La Pavoni "Geniale"
The coffee market is changing rapidly and so the requirements in the field of equipment are many times higher than a few years ago. Unfortunately la Pavoni has not moved with the demand for these developments in the past 15 years and we often could not keep up with the current bar / pub models. The love for this beautiful brand was still there, which is why Michel (owner Alleborgh) emailed them 3 years ago that a new, up to date machine had to arrive soon, in order to get la Pavoni back into the current street scene. From then on, there were a lot of mails back and forth, fantasizing about a new model. Something was happening. We are therefore very proud that the new model has finally arrived, the la Pavoni “Geniale”. All this was created and based on the old “la Brasilia” model from the 50s-60s, which has been in our showroom as long as Alleborgh has existed. Look here for more info!
Horecava 2020 "The Coffee Stage"
Last november we (ESW and Alleborgh) were involved in this new project within the Horecava. We have to admit, we found it a bit exciting, but were very curious to see this fresh interpretation in the field of coffee within the Horecava. We have to say, we were pleasantly surprised as were many others. The Coffee Stage was surrounded by a festival kind of atmosphere and although the vastness of the RAI, it even felt a little cozy. Passion flowed during the talks and tasting and has inspired many. No men in suits or conversations about leads, but as coffee should be, a party… Thank you all for your efforts, thanks to you this first edition has been a massive succes. Please find your peek into passion here.
In addition to the well-known La Marzocco we are also an importer of a large number of other brands. Most of them are located in the northern parts of Italy, so a visit to these suppliers is a treat. Recently we visited la Pavoni, Ceado, Mazzer and Nuova Ricambi and it is wonderful to see that all these companies develop in their own way and are moving along with the coffee market. We proudly left this sun-drenched area and once again realized we get to work with many great companies. We also shot some pictures (as far as it was allowed) so take a look at them here.
Amsterdam Coffee Festival 2019
It has flown by, the 2019 edition. We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere in the Transformatorhouse and so lucky as we were surrounded by the best Baristi, live music was playing and “The Roaster Village” was our neighbour this year with local and international roasters who were rocking the Linea Mini’s. All this has made this festival a real festival again and with a big smile we were introducing our newest addition, the la Marzocco KB90! There was a continuous flow of people who were checking out the new la Marzocco KB90, the best espresso, trying at having a chance at winning a la Marzocco Linea Mini or maybe they were just there for us ;) Anyway, it was an amazing party. Thanks on our behalf, the Alleborghio’s, and our partner in crime “ESW”.
Dragging all the stuff back into place and vaccuuming the last remnants of a fabulous party, what a succes it was last Friday. Besides the attention the new Modbar Av, Mahlkönig E65s and the Bravilor HWA6D were getting it also was a feast to see and talk to all our customers. We at ESW and Alleborgh realise at a day like that what an unique company we have and run as partners. It doesn’t matter if you work at one of the biggest Dutch roasters or are roasting in the back of your shed, everybody is welcome and shares the same passion .Of course we all have our own vision, but it does feel like one, big family. With all the warm, christmassy feelings this seems as the perfect end of 2018 ;) Thank you all for coming and see this link for a few snaps.
The World of Coffee
Wow, slowly we awake from the huge coffee dream named “The World of Coffee”. For some of us the first to experience. Organizing this fabulous fair in our own country felt like a once in a lifetime experience. Herewith a short summary of some of the highlights; our “own” Lex Wenneker becoming the world’s 2nd competing in the “World Barista Championships 2018” and the 1st place conquered by Agnieszka Rojewska, the first female barista to win the championship, Henk Langkemper presenting his vintage collection, the spectacular La Marzocco Party on the Supper Club Cruise and last but not least, the presentation of the La Marzocco Modbar. What an amazing week it was, thank you all for your presence, because of that the “World of Coffee 2018” has become an unforgettable one.
The Host Milano
The Host: a name that really lives up to the word “The”, not only because of its size, but due to the enormous variety of enthusiastic standholders as well. This year we were again present to have a chat with all our suppliers and to test and discuss all the new prototypes/models. It has been an immense pleasure to see the suppliers we do business with have continued to renovate themselves and remain very popular among all the visitors. We strolled around, feeling appropriately proud, and would like to take this opportunity to thank our suppliers; La Marzocco, La Pavoni, BUNN, Mazzer, Ceado and Mahlkönig, thank you very much! Please press here for some enviable pictures ;).
Technical Training at La Marzocco
Of course, La Marzocco is always looking for opportunities for development. It’s essential for us to keep up with all technical developments and new products about to hit the market. For some of us, this meant we got to go on a delightful trip to Florence, which included: starting our days with some espressi served by Mr. Bambi himself, sundrenched lunches, extensive guided tours and enjoying a drink with the staff in the evenings. It’s a tough job, but someone has got to do it. You can find a full report on our training experience here.
Amsterdam Coffee Festival 2017
We just can’t stop smiling; what a fabulous time we all had once again at this year’s Amsterdam Coffee Festival. For those of you who couldn’t make it (shame on you), some of the things you missed include: a La Marzocco Strada AV controlled via weighing scales, a Latte art throw down with a Linea Mini as prize, a variety of custom components from both Gerard and Specht Design, and of course, our unending affection... But don’t worry, you can take a look at a great many of the photos here and here. If the photos aren’t enough and you’d like to experience all this fun and merriment for yourself, then come along next year! A big thank you to all our wonderful coffee friends, family and suppliers. See you next time!
Stopping by for a coffee at La Marzocco, Florence
As importers of the wonderful brand “La Marzocco”, ESW and Alleborgh have once again been to Florence to visit the company behind the brand. Having last visited in 2015, as soon as we entered the La Marzocco site we were struck by just how much the company has grown in the last two years. But even if the small, family character of the company is no longer so apparent, we were certainly welcomed as if we were family! What we also noticed is how much the focus on quality and development has become even stronger since our last trip. We do not want to let you miss out on some photos of our visit, although we can’t show all of them, in order to protect new product developments. To view the photos, click here.
Preliminary rounds SCAE Netherlands
Wow, the last 3 weeks have really flown by. Once again this has been an extremely successful series of preliminary rounds. All the stars of the coffee world produced fantastic performances at the Brewers’ Cup, DBC and Latte Art podium. Thanks to all the sponsors and especially to a great bunch of enthusiastic volunteers, we again had a fantastic time serving as the location for this event. Alongside all the competitions there was also ample opportunity to catch up and chat with all the people present. It was great to hear and to see how passionately our country is involved in the worldwide coffee mania. In short: once again we really appreciated your commitment and professionalism, and enjoyed the lively, friendly atmosphere created by everyone there. We hope to see you again at the ACF 2017! Oh yes...you’ll be pleased to know we also have some photos to share.
World of Coffee 2016, Dublin
Some of our team travelled to Dublin for the World of Coffee event 2016. Once again we saw some fantastic developments in both the coffee and machine domains: among other things, the new La Marzocco Pb brew ratio was presented and can now be ordered from us. Slayer also presented a new gem in their collection, named ‘Steam’. This can soon be admired in our showroom and from the end of 2016/early 2017 will be available to order. Of course, we didn’t come to Dublin only for the trade fair, but also to support our Dutch heroes during the WBC, Brewers’ Cup and Aeropress Championship. Lex, Rob and Edward really let the Dutch coffee scene shine! Read here the report from our friends at KTC magazine.
Grand Opening Alleborgh
After a year of demolishing and building for our new location, finally the day arrived for the opening party. With the sun shining in a blue sky, cold drinks at the ready and the food truck filled with delicious fresh snacks, it was a day which couldn’t possibly go wrong. We were so delighted with all the incredible responses and the more than 200 visitors we received, and were overwhelmed with gifts and compliments about our new premises. Even though Michel thanked everybody extensively during his speech, once again we’d like to thank all those present for making it such a fantastic day: one we’ll never forget.
Amsterdam Coffee Festival 2016
A fabulous time was had by all at this 4th edition of the Amsterdam Coffee Festival. This year it was held for the first time at the Westergasfabriek, a nice surprise for everybody. We had the honour of converting part of the former transformer house into an Alleborgh and ESW stronghold. In doing so we swapped the usual setting for a cosy living room full of La Marzocco’s, grinders, barista tools and of course, the Modbar. The pictures say it all. We were so proud of all our ambassadors who had the faith in us to showcase our equipment during the ACF 2016. Big thanks to you all and see you next year! Click here for the YouTube film.
